Alex TLC is a patient support group for patients and families affected by leukodystrophies. ALD is a rare genetic disorder that renders healthy young boys into a semi-vegetative state within months. At present, there isn’t a cure for the disorder and death usually occurs within only a few years.
Alex TLC provide practical support, advice and information. The charity raises awareness and improve public and professional education into these conditions and look at advance medical research in order to find better treatment. Since June 2017, Alex TLC have provided financial support to help those to afford specialist equipment, treatment and full-time care. Alex TLC have continued to develop their support services to provide full-time support to families, over the telephone, by email and also in person. Alex TLC have also campaigned to increase testing of young boys with primary idiopathic adrenal insufficiency for the ALD gene in the UK.
What your support will mean to the young boys and their families:
Since becoming a partner of Alex TLC, The Recycling Factory have donated enough money for 20 young boys to have a wheelchair for a week but we don’t want it to stop there. So, please continue to recycle for Alex TLC and help us grow our partnership.
This recycling scheme for charities is a completely free of charge service. We donate 100% of the value of all inkjet cartridges, which are successfully recycled.
Only selected inkjet cartridges are eligible for a donation, therefore please ensure that you check to see if the cartridge that you intend to recycle is listed.
